“Real Time Analytics with Power View and SSAS Tabular in Direct Query Mode” Overview, Paul Doyle
In this session we will explore how SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular, running in DirectQuery mode, can be used to power real-time analytics. In DirectQuery mode the data is guaranteed to be up-to-date, no refreshing or processing is necessary, because DirectQuery mode queries data stored in a SQL Server database. We will provide concepts and step-by-step examples of setting up a BI Semantic Model, including security, best practices for getting the most out of Power View and the differences between DirectQuery and the In-Memory VertiPaq cache, so you are equipped to start building real-time analytics solutions with SSAS and Power View.
“Deploying an Access Database to the Enterprise through Access Services in SharePoint 2013” Overview, Brian Fitch and Tejpal Thatte
To the business, Microsoft Access is a powerful tool that allows users to create custom solutions without assistance from IT. To IT professionals, Microsoft Access can represent poorly designed, unsecure solutions that will eventually become their responsibility to support. Access Services in SharePoint 2013 allows end users the ability to create solutions in a managed environment without IT support. In this session we will explore the issues Access Services addresses, how to create and publish an Access Services app and what Microsoft Access functionality SharePoint supports.
