It is a new year and analysts and the media have been in full swing with 2013 recaps and 2014 predictions on technology trends. We’ve seen coverage on many emerging and maturing trends – all of which are fascinating and many of which are relevant to us and our clients. These include: The Internet of Things, cloud, social enterprise, Big Data, privacy, BI, business and IT alignment, and governance. At the end of this post, we’ve linked to a 2014 BI prediction piece that we particularly like.
The specifics of these aside, we think that what these experts are doing is critically important. What they are doing is examining change, and advising what to do about it. We do this with and for our customers — not just once or twice a year — but on a continuous basis. Taking stock of and preparing for change, driven from outside and within the organization, is essential to understanding where you’ve been, making decisions along the way and planning where you need to go.
